Anti-myeloperoxidase (MPO)

Performed when a clinician suspects vasculitis or autoimmune conditions such as microscopic polyangiitis or granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Wegener’s granulomatosis). It helps detect antibodies that target myeloperoxidase, an enzyme found in certain white blood cells. Symptoms that may prompt this test include unexplained kidney issues, respiratory symptoms, or signs of systemic inflammation.
